FOR THE FIRST TIME, A NEWBORN HAD MULTIPLE CYST REMOVAL
For the first time in Kazakhstan, doctors from the Scientific Center for Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery (SCPDH) performed a simultaneous operation to remove multiple cysts in a newborn.
Specialists performed a complex one-stage operation to remove congenital cystic formations in a very rare pathology of multiple doubling of the digestive system.
A huge cyst occupied the entire left chest, with compression of the left lung, the child had symptoms of respiratory failure from birth. Also, there were cystic formations in the abdominal cavity, as a result, the stomach was enlarged in volume, creating increased pressure in the abdominal cavity, with impaired stool discharge.
The child was transferred from the Central District Hospital of Talgar on the second day of life to the Scientific Center of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery. The diagnosis was established prenatally by ultrasound of the fetus.
On the basis of computed tomography, a preliminary diagnosis was made: multiple doubling of the digestive system, thoracoabdominal form. Doubling of the esophagus, doubling of the intestines. Within five days, the condition was corrected. Surgical treatment was performed urgently, thoracotomy on the left, excision of the doubled part of the esophagus, laparotomy by excision of the duodenum duplication and resection of the tubularly doubled portion of the small intestine with anastomosis were performed at the same time.
The operations lasted a total of more than 4 hours. The operation was carried out by qualified doctors of the NCPD, experienced specialists in their field, including: Deputy Chairman of the Board for Clinical Work, Chief Freelance Neonatal Surgeon of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor Erekeshov Asylzhan Abubakirovich, neonatal surgeon: Kaukenbayeva Gulmira Tolepbekovna, head of the intensive care unit for newborns Kurbanbekov Nursultan Auelbekovich.
