On April 15-16, 2024, an international master class on the topic was held in Almaty: "Modern approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of hematological diseases", dedicated to the anniversary of Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, founder of the oncohematology service in Kazakhstan, the luminary of national pediatrics Omarova Kulyan Omarovna.
The master class organized by JSC Scientific Center of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery and the public association "Union of Pediatricians" was attended by leading scientists and experts in the field of pediatric oncology, hematology from Russia, Belarus and our country, representatives of republican scientific centers, KazNMU named after S.Zh. Asfendiyarov, the Eurasian Association of Pediatricians and Neonatologists, Republican Public Association "National Medical Association", pediatric oncologists and hematologists of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The event was solemnly opened by the rector of the NAO "KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov" Marat Shoranov. Marat Yedigeevich thanked Kulyan Omarovna for her great contribution to the development of the oncohematology service in Kazakhstan, for solving priority and relevant scientific areas of pediatrics, for training highly specialized personnel, educating young specialists and awarded the medal "Ardager-Veteran of KazNMU".
At the opening of the master class, Chairman of the Board of the Scientific Center of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery Abai Kusainov noted the long-term selfless work of Kulyan Omarovna for the benefit of pediatrics and oncohematology of Kazakhstan, congratulated on behalf of the NCPDH staff on the anniversary.
President of the Republican Public Association "National Medical Association" Aizhan Sadykova presented Kulyan Omarovna with the highest award "Order of Hippocrates" for her great contribution to the development of national healthcare and selfless work for the benefit of the health of the people of Kazakhstan.

For more than 30 years since the opening of the Republican Children's Oncohematology Center, thousands of Kazakhstani children have had the opportunity to survive, recover, go to school, study at universities. Most of these children have grown up, created families, become full-fledged members of society and successful citizens. One of them is Aziz, a patient who came from Uzbekistan. Today he is the father of three children, he is 38 years old, and works in the field of international relations. Aziz and his father Kamil Tursynov came especially for the anniversary of Professor K.O. Omarova to express their gratitude to her.
During all the years of the formation of the oncohematology service, JSC Scientific Center of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery has cooperated and continues to cooperate with many centers of the near and far abroad, which provide consulting and practical assistance in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with severe forms of tumors and blood diseases, train young specialists at their centers, conduct master classes on various topical issues of pediatric oncology and hematology. The use of innovative diagnostic methods, modern treatment programs, and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation has increased the overall survival rate of children for almost all malignant neoplasms.
The master class discussed protocols for the treatment of acute leukemia in children under 1 year of age, the choice of therapy in the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia, modern protocols for the treatment of acute promyelocytic leukemia, aplastic anemia, neuroblastoma in children, the use of anti GD2 therapy in modern therapy protocols, the use of non-factor therapy in children with hemophilia A, issues of hemostasis correction in children children with oncohematological diseases. Great attention is also paid to the role of diagnosis of minimal residual disease in the control of treatment and the effectiveness of programmatic treatment, as well as in determining indications for HSCT in children with leukemia.
During the two-day master class, clinical cases were discussed and practical classes on molecular genetic diagnostics were conducted.
The main purpose of the master class is to discuss issues of modern diagnosis, treatment, new methods of early diagnosis of oncological and hematological diseases in children, the development of international and interregional cooperation, the unification of efforts of specialists in the early diagnosis and treatment of oncological and hematological diseases in children.
