NCPPS Receives Japanese Grant for Endoscopic Laser Lithotripsy Equipment

On March 5, 2025, at the residence of His Excellency Yasumasa Iijima, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the results of the "KUSANONE" (Grassroots) grant program competition were announced at a ceremonial event. Based on the results of the competition, grants were awarded to two organizations: the "Regional Blood Center" of the Zhambyl Region Health Department, and NCPPS JSC (Almaty).

The "KUSANONE" (Grassroots) program is a program of the Government of Japan providing grant assistance to small-scale social projects as part of ensuring human security.

As part of the project to equip medical facilities, NCPPS JSC was awarded a grant of $74,900 to purchase an endoscopic laser lithotripsy device.

Laser lithotripsy is a modern, high-tech, and promising method for breaking up stones in cases of urolithiasis. This technique will be used for the first time in pediatric urology in the Republic. A key advantage of this method is its minimal invasiveness, which reduces the risks of surgical treatment and postoperative recovery, and shortens both the duration of the operation itself and the patient's hospital stay.

Asylzhan Abubakirovich Yerekeshov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board for Clinical Work at NCPPS JSC, participated in the signing of the agreement between the parties. He expressed deep gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency Yasumasa Iijima, as well as to the people and Government of Japan, and assured that the equipment would be used for the benefit of the children of Kazakhstan.
