NCPPS Trains Primary Care Physicians in Early Diagnosis of Pediatric Oncological and Hematological Diseases

Oncological and hematological diseases in children remain one of the most challenging problems in healthcare. However, early diagnosis plays a key role in successful treatment and improving chances of recovery.

As part of the implementation of Item No. 63 of the Comprehensive Plan for Combating Oncological Diseases in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023–2025, the National Scientific Center of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery JSC conducted training from March 3–5, 2025, for primary healthcare physicians from Almaty, Almaty Region, and Zhetysu Region on the topic "Early Diagnosis of Oncological and Hematological Diseases in Children." The training consisted of 30 hours and was provided free of charge at NCPPS JSC. A total of 50 primary healthcare specialists completed the training.

To improve qualifications and enhance the quality of early detection of oncological and hematological diseases, NCPPS plans to conduct training for specialists from all regions of Kazakhstan, including pediatricians, general practitioners, and specialists in narrow fields, as part of the educational process on this topic.

During the training, specialists studied modern approaches to early diagnosis, including recognizing the first clinical signs of these diseases — which often present under the guise of other conditions — correctly interpreting examination results, and understanding the diagnostic, treatment, and follow-up care pathway for children, in order to ensure timely referral to specialized centers and the provision of specialized and highly specialized care.
