National Scientific Center of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery Ranks 1st in Educational Performance Among Research Institutes and Scientific Centers of Kazakhstan

The National Scientific Center of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery took 1st place in the educational activity ranking among research institutes and scientific centers of Kazakhstan for the 2023–2024 academic year, achieving an impressive score of 432.2 points and securing the status of leader in educational activity among scientific centers, according to a ranking conducted by the Salidat Kairbekova National Research Center for Health Development. https://nrchd.kz/index.php/ru/?option=com_content&view=article&id=214&catid=22&lang=ru-RU&Itemid=235

The rating assessment of organizations' performance included evaluation of the quality of specialist training, the demand for residency graduates, the level of integration into the international educational space, and the level of the faculty.

Since 2010, the Center has been carrying out postgraduate training under the residency program. During this time, 231 residents have graduated, including 173 pediatricians and 58 pediatric surgeons. Currently, 55 residents are training at the National Scientific Center of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery JSC in the specialties of "Pediatrics" (21 residents), "Pediatric Surgery" (17 residents), and "Pediatric Oncology and Hematology" (17 residents). The average score achieved by NCPPS residents in the 2024 assessment by the National Center for Independent Testing was 89.8, including 89 points in "Pediatrics" and 91 points in "Pediatric Oncology and Hematology."

Between 2022 and 2024, NCPPS residents, together with the Center's specialists, published 45 scientific articles, presented 28 oral and 16 poster presentations at various international conferences, and won 16 award-winning placements.

NCPPS demonstrates consistent growth in the effectiveness of its work, confirming its leading position and high level of professionalism. This success was made possible through the coordinated efforts of the entire Center team — faculty, trainees, and administration. Every area of activity, whether it be personnel training, the demand for graduates, or the professionalism of the faculty, contributes to the overall impression of the Center as a leading educational and research organization.

It is worth noting that compared to the results for the 2022–2023 academic year, when the Center scored 340 points and held the honorable 2nd place, this progress reflects a steady positive trend in development. This demonstrates the Center's ongoing commitment to improving educational processes, implementing advanced teaching approaches, and actively participating in international initiatives.

Thus, the final score of 432.2 points is not just a number, but evidence of NCPPS's recognition within the national educational system. The Center continues to set new quality standards, playing a key role in training qualified specialists for the healthcare system.
