Treatment of children with malignant neoplasms is carried out in two republican centers. One of them is the Scientific Center of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery, the second is the Maternity and Childhood Science Center. The center of pediatrics most often receives children in serious condition. In the pediatrics center of the Department of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology are designed for 115 places. More than 2500 children receive treatment annually. Also, children undergo treatment at the day hospital department, which provides assistance to patients with oncological, hematological pathology, rheumatic and rare diseases. Since the opening of the oncohematological service in the center, more than 10,000 children with hematological malignancies of severe form have been treated, of them 5,000 children with acute leukemia. a blood disease. Previously, all children entered the quota, now through an electronic portal. It should be noted that there is no queue at the portal for patients with oncological diseases.

Director of the Center for Pediatrics Riza Boranbayeva said: "More than 500 children suffer from cancer on an average in Kazakhstan every year. In 2017, 558 children with various malignant neoplasms, including 230 children with acute leukemia, became ill. In the structure of all tumors, acute leukemia occupies the first place, somewhere 34% of children develop acute leukemia, and then other malignant neoplasms. According to statistical data, not only in our country, but also in the whole world, acute leukemia is the first among malignant tumors. If you take the age structure of the sick children, somewhere around 45% falls on children from 0 to 3 years old and this feature of childhood cancer.
