Three-Day Master Class on Rare Hereditary Hepatopathies Held at NCPPS

On November 5–7, a three-day master class on "Rare Hereditary Hepatopathies in Pediatric Practice" was held at the National Scientific Center of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery jointly with S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University.

The event brought together leading specialists from Kazakhstan and abroad: Maira Nabimuratovna Sharipova, MD; Assel Kairatovna Tulebayeva, PhD; Olzhas Bolatovich Abdrakhmanov; as well as Professor Anna Tylki-Chymańska (Children's Memorial Health Institute, Warsaw, Poland), who was visiting Kazakhstan as a guest lecturer at KazNMU.

The master class was attended by pediatricians, general practitioners, gastroenterologists, geneticists, and infectious disease specialists from all regions of Kazakhstan, as well as residents from NCPPS and KazNMU.

The program covered current approaches to the early diagnosis, patient routing, and treatment of rare hereditary liver diseases — including lysosomal acid lipase deficiency, hereditary tyrosinemia type I, Gaucher disease, Niemann-Pick disease, Wilson's disease, glycogen storage diseases, and others. Clinical case discussions were held, along with joint consultations with guest Professor Tylki-Chymańska on patients presenting diagnostic challenges.

The master class continued the ongoing partnership between the National Scientific Center of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery, KazNMU, and leading international clinics, aimed at developing physicians' professional competencies and improving early diagnosis of rare metabolic diseases in children.
