Master Class on Cystic Fibrosis and Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia Held for Pediatricians in Almaty

On May 15–16, 2026, a master class titled "Cystic Fibrosis and Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia in the Focus of Pediatricians' Attention" was held in Almaty at the National Scientific Center of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery JSC, as part of the 2026 scientific and practical events plan of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The master class brought together specialists in pediatrics, pediatric pulmonology, microbiology, and rare (orphan) diseases from various regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation. A total of more than 1,270 people took part, including 115 in person and over 1,160 online.

The master class covered current approaches to diagnosing and treating cystic fibrosis and primary ciliary dyskinesia, as well as issues of microbiological diagnostics, antibacterial and targeted therapy, prevention of chronic infections, and multidisciplinary patient management.

The event served as an important platform for professional exchange of experience, discussion of pressing issues in providing specialized care to children with rare respiratory diseases, and strengthening international professional cooperation.
