In the Scientific Center of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery from September 11 to 15, 2017, a master class was held with the participation of a foreign expert from Lithuania, Rasa Brinkis, assistant professor at the Kaunas University Clinic, on «Modern technologies of anesthesia and intensive care in neonatology».
At the present stage of development of medicine, the main task is to improve the survival, rehabilitation and high quality of life of newborn patients. The outcome of each case with various pathologies of neonatal age in the majority depends on well-coordinated teamwork of qualified specialists of neonatologists, neonatal surgeons, anesthesiologists-resuscitators and nurses. Despite the intensive development of medical science and technology, measures for timely antenatal diagnosis and interruption of pathological pregnancies with multiple malformations of the fetus have not been developed sufficiently effectively. In some cases, there is a belated diagnosis of congenital developmental defects after birth, which leads to an even greater aggravation of the severity of the condition of the newborn. It is known that 40-50% of children with developmental anomalies can be kept alive with timely diagnosis and surgical correction of a congenital defect in a fetus and a newborn child in the first hours of life, birth defects are leading in the structure of the causes of perinatal mortality. According to world statistics, the frequency of congenital developmental defects is 5-6 cases per 1000 births, the mortality rate is 30-40%. The pathology of newborns is one of the serious problems not only of public health, but also of the state as a whole, since their treatment, as well as the high level of disability of children, require huge material costs and cause infant mortality.
According to the master class program, the issues of preoperative preparation, anesthesia and perioperative management of newborns with congenital malformations, diagnostics and intensive therapy of septic conditions in neonatology are considered. Basic principles, modern technologies on the protective regime, care and therapy for newborns in critical conditions.
The purpose of the training is to obtain theoretical knowledge, practical skills and abilities based on modern scientific achievements in the field of neonatology and intensive care for newborns.
25 neonatologists from different regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the master class by a foreign specialist from Lithuania. 10 patients with various pathologies of the neonatal period were consulted.
