Almaty became the first pilot region in which a nebulizer room for inhalation therapy was opened, which has no analogues in the countries of Central Asia. The project is part of the program of the Scientific Center of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery to implement the message of the President of the country in terms of improving the quality and availability of innovative medical technologies in health care.
Today in Almaty on the basis of the Scientific Center of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery opened its first office in the Republic of Kazakhstan nebulizer therapy for patients with diseases of the respiratory system. The solemn ceremony was attended by leading specialists from the Scientific Center for Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery, scientists, and non-governmental public organizations.
The opening of the nebulizer treatment room was made possible by the joint work of the Scientific Center for Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery, the international manufacturer of medical equipment Homed Medical Device Co., Ltd. and the international biopharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, which develops innovative drugs for the treatment of diseases of the respiratory system.
Respiratory pathologies occupy one of the leading places in the structure of the incidence of children in different countries and have a steady upward trend due to the increasing level of urbanization of large cities. In the Republic of Kazakhstan, the primary ages of hospitalized patients are young children (from 1 year to 3 years) with dominant chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases: cystic fibrosis 7.7%, bronchiectasis 9.9%, chronic bronchitis 10% and bronchial asthma 15%. Treatment of diseases of the respiratory system in these patients associated with obstruction of oral and parenteral forms of medicines. The inhalation route of administration greatly facilitates the condition of patients, helps to stop acute conditions, contributes to a more rapid recovery and shortens the time spent in hospital.
The first chamber of nebulizer therapy is fully equipped and transferred to the Center free of charge. In the future it is planned to open similar offices throughout the country. Young patients will be able to receive outpatient treatment, which will give an additional economic effect, and the costs of hospitalization will decrease.
