The department uses the most modern highly effective protocols for the treatment of urological diseases in children, which corresponds to high international standards. High-tech and high-precision contrast X-ray ultrasonic studies using digital apparatus, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, allow to shorten the time for identification and refinement of AIM pathologies.
In the field of innovative technologies, one of the promising areas is the use of microinvasive endoscopic surgery in children, with such positive indicators as low traumatism, reduced blood loss and loss of fluid, shortening the length of stay in the hospital, reducing the course of antibacterial and analgesic therapies, short rehabilitation period, excellent cosmetic effect , the absence of the concept of management after an operating wound, which raises the level of quality of life. The next step is the development of endoscopic operations with the use of robotic microsurgical manipulators in children.
Accordingly, the structure of diseases, the most frequently performed reconstructive and plastic surgery of the penis and urethra with various forms of hypospadias and epispadias, anomalies of the penis, infravesical obstruction of the urethra, reconstructive and plastic surgery on the ureterocarillary segment and the uretero-vesicular segment.
On the basis of the department, residents and cadets undergo training in the specialty of children's urology.
